Terms of Service

1. What TipScan is

TipScan (the "Service", operated at tipscan.app and through our mobile apps) is a record-keeping and calculation tool for tipped income: you log shifts (by photographing a checkout slip or entering amounts), and the Service computes totals, hourly figures, and reference summaries. By using the Service you agree to these terms.

2. Not tax, legal, or financial advice

All figures the Service produces — including deduction estimates, wage comparisons, and tax-season summaries — are informational references computed from the data you enter. They are not tax, legal, accounting, or financial advice, and no professional-client relationship is created. Verify anything that matters with the IRS, your state authorities, or a qualified professional. You are solely responsible for your tax filings.

3. Your responsibilities

• You're responsible for the accuracy of the records you keep and for confirming scanned values.
• Photograph receipts and reports only where your workplace permits it. You are responsible for complying with your employer's policies.
• Don't misuse the Service (no unauthorized access, scraping of other users' data, or interference).
• Keep your sign-in email account secure — it is the key to your TipScan account.

4. Your data

Your records belong to you. You can export them as CSV at any time, free, and permanently delete your account in the app or at tipscan.app/account/delete. How we handle data is described in the Privacy Policy.

5. Free service and future paid features

Core features — shift logging, calendar, totals, real-hourly math, and CSV export — are free and will remain free. We may offer optional paid features (such as unlimited scanning or advanced reports) billed through the App Store or Google Play; those purchases are governed by the respective store's terms and can be cancelled there.

6. Availability and changes

We work to keep the Service reliable but provide it "as is" without warranties of uninterrupted availability. We may update features over time. If we ever discontinue the Service, we will provide reasonable notice and keep CSV export available so you can take your records with you.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TipScan and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service, including decisions made in reliance on computed figures. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (which, for free users, is zero).

8. Termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms or abuse the Service.
